We currently have a group of 20 volunteers, and are staying in touch with communities in case they don’t get aid next week.

To date, our relief efforts have have provided for 5,000 people. 

Our packets for families of 5 lasts 5-7 days and include food, rope, household size tarp, sleeping mat, 7 candles, 2 match boxes, and bar of soap - cost is about $90 per packet.

We have created project criteria for assistance to prioritize. We are currently directly helping villages that:

1. Are no more than 2000 people - which is 400-500 houses, but most impacted villages are less than 200 houses - so we can deliver enough for everybody in the village.
2. Haven't received aid from others.
3. We have direct contact with a community leader (who is trusted by / has accountability to someone from their team), this leader can give info on how many households, and what are needs of community - some don’t need food, outside Kdu most don’t need water but inside Kdu they need water.
4. Community has to organize own transport of supplies - get buy in from communities, so they feel ownership over what's being given, they're bringing in their own aid. If villagers can't afford, #WeHelpNepal can help with transport costs.

Right now there is a lot of resentment for aid. When the community handles the delivery there is a much higher chance of getting the food home safely if they can be with the goods as they are delivered home.
